Steele Students

First grade students at Steele Elementary were busy learning about apples this week! Ms. Cooper and Ms. Moreno teamed up to bring their classes together in the "lab" to have fun and allow the students to make new friends while learning.

The students used their 5 senses to describe the apples and then graphed their results. They learned about the life cycle of an apple and how bees play an important part in the process.

Next it was time to put together a diagram of the parts of an apple! Students then predicted if classroom items would be heavier or lighter than the apple. They determined their answers after weighing the items with a scale.

According to Ms. Cooper, the students favorite part was putting apples in different liquids to see what would happen to them over a few days time.

The scientist and teachers both enjoyed the week learning and experimenting with apples in the lab!
