The Third Annual Girls Aviation Day was held at the Quad Cities International Airport last weekend. Assistant Principal for Student and Staff Supports, Tina Imes, took a group of students to attend the event.
The event had over 500 kids registered to get an up-close experience of single-engine planes, flight simulation, and interacting with aviation professionals. Students received a passport at the beginning of their journey around the airport. Before they could leave, they needed the passports signed and completed with a passport photo. Other activities included jumping into the cockpits and flying drones with trained professionals.
